Pelvic floor physical therapy treats issues like incontinence, pain, or weakness in the muscles supporting your bladder, bowels, and reproductive organs. Sessions focus on strengthening or relaxing these muscles through exercises, biofeedback, and lifestyle adjustments (like posture, breathing, or diet). Importantly, treatments do not require internal work—many are external, using manual therapy techniques similar to regular PT, such as soft tissue mobilization or joint work, tailored to your comfort level.
-
Integrative Manual Therapy was developed by Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo, PhD, PT, IMT,C, a physical therapist with advanced degrees in health sciences, clinical neuroscience, and a doctorate focused on traumatic brain injury.
IMT is a gentle, hands-on holistic manual therapy approach designed to address the root causes of pain, dysfunction, disability, and various health conditions. IMT uses light, skilled touch rather than forceful manipulation. IMT treats the whole body by addressing interconnected systems including:
myofascial release
muscle energy techniques
strain-counterstrain
positional release
visceral and gastrointestinal mobilization
craniosacral therapy
neural tissue tension release
autonomic nervous system techniques including vagus nerve neural tissue tension release
and more

Be Activated is a muscle activation system created by Douglas Heel that uses neurolymphatic reflexive acupressure points to "wake up" underperforming muscles, improving strength, flexibility, and performance. It starts with testing your body's patterns, then applies simple techniques to reset compensation habits, often leading to rapid improvements in movement and reduced pain.
-
Stecco Fascial Manipulation is a manual therapy method developed by Luigi, Carla, and Antonio Stecco at the University of Padua, Italy, that targets specific points in the fascia (connective tissue) to restore movement and reduce pain. It treats the body globally, addressing imbalances in fascial layers that contribute to musculoskeletal issues, with deep friction and assessment for lasting relief.
-
Anatomy Trains Structural Integration, developed by Tom Myers, maps the body's fascial "meridians" or lines of connected tissues that influence posture and movement. It guides therapy by treating these interconnected chains holistically, improving alignment, reducing tension, and enhancing overall function through manual techniques and awareness exercises.
-
While Carol-Anne doesn't specifically perform “Rolfing”, she uses three similar techniques to reorganize fascia through deep manipulation to improve body alignment. Stecco Fascial Manipulation, Be Activated, and Anatomy Trains Structural Integration are excellent alternatives—they all focus on fascial health, releasing restrictions, and promoting whole-body balance, often with similar outcomes like better posture and pain relief. These methods align with her evidence-based approach and can be gentler or more targeted, making them great fits for diverse needs.

Cash-based physical therapy means we don't contract with insurance companies, so you pay directly at the time of service. This allows us to provide undivided, one-on-one attention for the full session, tailored exactly to your needs, without insurance dictating treatment limits or requiring unnecessary paperwork. Clients often find they get better results faster because we can focus on what truly works for you. Your insurance may offer out-of-network coverage. We can provide you with a Superbill to submit for possible reimbursement.
